Syllabus:
The scope of this student seminar is to expose students to recent endeavors in the field of vertebrate developmental biology, using the mouse, frog, fish and avian embryos experimental models. Topics of interest will include the establishment of cell diversity and pattern in the early embryo, cell fate specification, and embryonic stem cell biology. Each student will present a seminar on a paper or a subject, which will be followed by a group discussion. The aim of the discussion is to provide a critical evaluation of the presented work. The emphasis will be on a broad introduction to the biological process/phenomena; this will be followed by ideas bashing that would help us extend the discussion and implications of the results.
