Well-being Resources and Support for Students and Postdocs

Dear Students and Postdoctoral Fellows,

The Weizmann School of Science has shared a set of well-being resources intended to support students and postdoctoral researchers in coping with stress and anxiety during this challenging period.

The guide includes recommended applications for mental well-being, as well as 24/7 emotional support hotlines. In addition, dedicated staff members are available to provide personal support when needed.

Academic and Administrative Update for Students and Postdocs

Dear All, The Weizmann School of Science has issued an update informing students and postdocs that campus activities are currently taking place remotely. Exams scheduled for this period have been postponed and will be rescheduled with advance notice. Academic extensions will be granted as needed, and stipends will continue as usual. Additional support measures are in place, including assistance for those on reserve duty. Read the full update here - Link

Emergency Support Fund

Dear all, 

Following our recent announcement regarding the Emergency Support Fund, please note the following clarifications:

 

1. Submission Deadline

The deadline to submit the application form remains July 15, 2025.

Additional supporting documents (such as receipts or confirmations) may be submitted until July 30, 2025.

 

2. Flight Reimbursement Clarification

Travel expenses may be reimbursed for round-trip flights to/from Israel that were made in response to the emergency situation.

ZOOM Meeting - Update concerning the security events in Israel

Dear Students and Postdocs,

Last night, Israel experienced an aerial attack launched by Iran, which was successfully repelled by the IDF and our allies.

This morning, the Homefront Command announced that except for educational activities, all other institutions and activities in Israel return to normal, including the Ben Gurion International Airport which resumed its regular activity.

No educational activities next 48 hours

Dear students, tutors, and lecturers,

Per the Home Front Command’s instruction, all educational activities will not be held in the next 48 hours. Therefore, there will be no classes, exams, and tutorial sessions, tomorrow – Sunday, April 14, 2024, and Monday- April 15, 2024.

We will update you according to the governmental and institutional instructions.

The Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS) and the Feinberg Graduate School (FGS) have been embracing their Israeli and international students and postdoctoral fellows on account of the state of emergency declared in Israel as a result of the events that transpired on October 7. We, in the WIS community, are supporting our friends and families, who have all had to quickly adapt to the new situation – a situation that has affected many of us not only on the physical and emotional levels but also had potential financial implications.
