The Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS) and the Feinberg Graduate School (FGS) have been embracing their Israeli and international students and postdoctoral fellows on account of the state of emergency declared in Israel as a result of the events that transpired on October 7. We, in the WIS community, are supporting our friends and families, who have all had to quickly adapt to the new situation – a situation that has affected many of us not only on the physical and emotional levels but also had potential financial implications. To address the various needs presented to us by Israeli and international students and postdoctoral fellows, we have initiated a second round of an emergency support fund for those who encounter new financial difficulties due to the war in Israel and the situation on the Home Front.
Type and extent of assistance
• Only new cases will be discussed – new expenses that were not submitted in the first round and have not yet been discussed.
• Grants will be given per the needs raised by the applicants against receipts and/or documentation. Reimbursements cannot be given for future expenses.
• The Emergency Support Fund Committee will determine the amount, and results will be announced at the end of January (payment will be made in February)
• Requested reimbursements cannot be against expenses submitted to any other party (TAFNIT or other external fund).
Who is eligible for assistance?
Active Israeli and international students and postdoctoral fellows at FGS who encounter financial difficulties and expenses due to the current state of emergency in Israel (including those who are in Israel and those who are abroad at present).
Required Documents
All lines of information in the form must be filled. An incomplete form will not be accepted and evaluated.

• Documentation must be included to support financial reimbursement (attachments in PDF format).
How to apply
Candidates must submit their applications only once via the following email: fgs.finassistance@weizmann.ac.il
• The subject of the email must be the applicant's name in English.
• Married/in a relationship applicants must submit separate applications in the case both applicants are active students/postdocs in the FGS (please add your spouse’s full name).
• In the case of individuals being unable to apply for themselves, please send an email to fgs.finassistance@weizmann.ac.il informing who will be submitting on behalf of the applicant.

The selection process
The FGS Dean has appointed an Emergency Support Fund Committee to review the applications. Decisions will be made based on individual needs and depending on the resources available in the fund.

מכון ויצמן למדע (WIS) ומדרשת פיינברג (FGS) מחבקים את הסטודנטים והסטודנטיות הפוסט דוקטורנטים והפוסט דוקטורנטיות הישראלים והבינלאומיים שלהם, בשל מצב החירום שהוכרז בישראל כתוצאה מהאירועים שהתרחשו ב-7 באוקטובר.
אנו, בקהילת מכון ויצמן תומכים בחברים ובמשפחות שלנו, שכולם נאלצו להסתגל במהירות למצב החדש , מצב שהשפיע על רבים מאיתנו במישור הפיזי והרגשי ושיש לו פוטנציאל גם להשלכות כלכליות.
על מנת לתת מענה לצרכים השונים שמציגים בפנינו סטודנטים ופוסט דוקטורנטים ישראלים ובינלאומיים, יזמנו סבב שני של קרן תמיכה לשעת חירום עבור מי שנתקל/ת בקשיים כלכליים עקב המלחמה בישראל והמצב בעורף.
סוג והיקף הסיוע
• יידונו רק מקרים חדשים – הוצאות חדשות , שלא הוגשו בסיבוב הראשון של הקול קורא וטרם נדונו בוועדה.
• מענקים יינתנו בהתאם לצרכים שיעלו מבקשי הסיוע כנגד קבלות או כל תיעוד אחר. לא יינתנו החזרים עבור הוצאות עתידיות.
• ועדת קרן התמיכה לשעת חירום תקבע את סכום הסיוע, תשובות יפורסמו בסוף ינואר (תשלום יועבר בפברואר).
• לא ניתן להגיש בקשות לסיוע עבור הוצאות שהוגשו לגורם נוסף ('תפנית' או כל גורם סיוע אחר)
מי זכאי לסיוע?
סטודנטים וסטודנטיות פעילים , ישראלים ובינלאומיים, ופוסט-דוקטורנטים FGS שנתקלים/ות בקשיים כלכליים ובהוצאות נוספות עקב מצב החירום הנוכחי בישראל (כולל מי שנמצאים בישראל, ואלה השוהים בחו"ל).

יש למלא את כל שורות המידע בטופס. טופס שאינו שלם לא ייבדק.

הגשת הבקשה
על המועמדים והמועמדות להגיש את הבקשה בפעם אחת בלבד באמצעות המייל הבא: fgs.finassistance@weizmann.ac.il
• שורת הנושא חייבת לכלול את שם המבקש/ת באנגלית
• מועמדים/מועמדות נשואים/ בזוגיות חייבים להגיש בקשות בנפרד כאשר שני המבקשים הם סטודנטים/פוסט דוקטורנטים פעילים במכון (יש לציין את שמו/ה המלא של בן/ בת הזוג)
• במקרה של מי שאינו יכול להגיש את הבקשה בעצמו/ה יש לשלוח דוא"ל לכתובת : fgs.finassistance@weizmann.ac.il ולציין מי מגיש את הבקשה ובשם מי.
