In the early hours of 15 June 2025, terror struck the very heart of human progress. Two ballistic missiles, launched by Iran in a broad assault on Israel’s civilian infrastructure, directly hit the Weizmann Institute of Science.
This attack caused unprecedented damage to the Weizmann Institute and struck at the very heart of our community. Three buildings were severely destroyed, dozens more were damaged, critical infrastructure was hit, and 52 research labs were forced to shut down. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but vital scientific work was disrupted.
It was an attack on science itself and on one of Israel’s most significant assets - but science does not stop. The challenge ahead is immense, but so is our resolve.
With your support, and with a deep commitment to the scientific and human values on which the Weizmann Institute was founded, we will rebuild, restore our foundations, and emerge stronger. Together, we will continue to pursue groundbreaking research that shapes the future of humanity.
