Overview
ChatGPT Edu is a specialized version of OpenAI's ChatGPT, tailored for educational institutions to provide advanced AI capabilities to students, faculty, and administrative staff. Its key features include:

- Advanced Tools: Includes data analysis, web browsing, and file uploads, enabling comprehensive research and academic support.
- Custom GPT Creation: Allows institutions to develop tailored AI assistants for specific courses or administrative functions, facilitating personalized learning experiences.
- Higher Message Limits: Provides substantially higher message allowances compared to the free version, supporting extensive interactions.
- Multilingual Support: Supports over 50 languages, enhancing accessibility for diverse campus communities.
- Enterprise-Level Security: Features robust data privacy measures and login with institutional credentials (Single Sign-On).
License Terms
- The price for the 1st subscription year is $20 per user/month.
- Registration is available to all members of the Weizmann Institute community with a primary institutional email account.
- Software developers, please note that centralized billing and distribution of API tokens under the OpenAI Platform is currently beyond the scope of this agreement. Users who are interested in purchasing API tokens can do so using credit card from within the Platform interface.
Registration
- Ask your departmental secretariat to register you for the ChatGPT resource in Internal Services.
- You will receive a registration confirmation from Internal Services, followed by an invitation email from OpenAI to join the Weizmann Institute Edu Workspace. Please note that the email from OpenAI might take up to 1 hour to be delivered.
- Click Join Workspace within the invitation and then log in to ChatGPT using your Weizmann email and password (Weizmann Institute SSO).
- Existing ChatGPT users with a Weizmann email will be prompted to transfer their chat history into the Edu workspace or export it prior to deletion of their existing workspace. It is generally advised to proceed with the transfer option for convenience and continuity.
Existing ChatGPT users with a private email will continue working as usual, without any affiliation with the institutional account. - If you have a ChatGPT Plus subscription, it will be canceled upon completing the joining process.
