Circular Dichroism (CD) - Chirascan

Instrument Specification

Circular dichroism spectrophotometer suitable for studying chiral molecules. The system measures the difference in absorption of right circularly polarized light and left circularly polarized light. As an example of the usefulness of the technique - this allows the user to study the secondary structure of proteins by noting the differences between regions of alpha helix conformation and regions of beta sheet conformation in proteins. This instrument also allows one to study temperature dependent phenomena as well. https://www.photophysics.com/systems/chirascan-systems/chirascan/system-information/
