We are thrilled to partner with The Eddie and Jules Trump Family Foundation to launch an exciting educational project aimed at preparing young students for the AI era.

 

Congrats to Elad for winning the FGS PhD Prize!!! 07/26/2024

Congratulations to Elad who has been selected by the Feinberg Graduate School (FGS) Steering Committee to receive the Elhanan A. Bunde Award for 2024. The award is given to Elad for his research on "The Wisdom of Crowds in Education: Integrating Teachers and Students in Pedagogical Information Creation Processes to Support Personalized Teaching in Blended Learning Environments". Elad is the 5th recipient of the FGS PhD award in the history of the science teaching department!.

From the laboratory to the field: on a rainy winter day, we put on work clothes and went out for a day of volunteering in agricultural work, pruning and thinning cherry tomatoes. We concluded the event at a cafe boutique nearby. Yummy! 

 

Congrats to Yael and Shai for winning highly prestigious fellowships! 12/10/2023

Yael has been awarded the ISF Postdoctoral Fellowship in Social Sciences.
Shai has been awarded the Levtzion Scholarship for outstanding doctoral students from the periphery. Both are highly selective grants, and both Shai and Yael are the *first* awardees of these grants from the department of science teaching.

Honored to receive a MoST grant for studying NLP & Assessment! 12/05/2023

Our group, in collaboration with Prof. Edit Yerushalmi (Physics Ed) and Prof. Ron Blonder (Chemistry Ed), is among the winners of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology's (MoST) grants for Hebrew and Arabic NLP, for studying applications of Hebrew and Arabic NLP to Assessment in science education.

 

Elad's paper on Social Recommendations accepted to EC-TEL'23 . 06/07/2023

Elad's paper on how teachers for learning materials in online learning environments, and how to support them via social recommendations, was accepted to the 18th European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL'23), to be held in September in Porto, Portugal

Abigail's paper accepted to BEA'23 06/07/2023

Abigail's paper on using alephBERT for automated assessment of open questions in Biology was accepted to the 18th Workshop on Innovative Use of NLP for Building Educational Applications (BEA'23), to be held in Toronto, Canada on July. This work is in collaboration with Beata Beigman Klebanov  from ETS and Moriah Ariely from the Biology education group.

AI and the Next-Gen Conference was a huge success, 04/13/2022

A festive conference moderated by the journalist Dror Globerman, and with the participation of leading AI researchers, including Weizmann Institute’s Profs.
