A group of young Mexican friends came together to support the research of Dr. Itay Tirosh in the Department of Molecular Cell Biology.
Mauricio Schwarz of Mexico City spearheaded the New-Generation Mexican Friends' effort to support Dr. Tirosh. He made remarks at the open session of the International Board.
Dr. Tirosh is a computational and systems biologist who is taking the field of single-cell genomics into new areas of discovery. He was among the pioneers applying single-cell techniques to solid human tumors, showing, for the first time, the extent of incredible heterogeneity inside glioblastoma tumors—an aggressive form of brain cancer.
