Appointment of an accessibility coordinator in the organization
- According to Article 19 of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and Regulation 92 of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility of Service), 5771-2011, the legislature determined that the party responsible for the provision of a public service employing at least 25 employees, including through an employment agency or contractor, must appoint an accessibility coordinator from among its employees. It is proposed that the same person should hold a managerial role and be knowledgeable about accessibility for people with disabilities and, if possible, said person should also have a disability.
- The organization is responsible for informing the public and employees of the name of the appointed accessibility coordinator, his/her office location, and how to contact him/her. The publicized information will be accessible to people with disabilities (see reference in section 2.3a).
- Until October 25, 2016, the coordinator may be a person with no training or experience related to the subject. After this date, the coordinator must complete significant training in the field (such as course for accessibility coordinators and/or significant training on the subject).
