Collaboration in Action: WIS & Institut Pasteur advancing Malaria Research

At Bina - Bridge Innovate Nurture Advance, we facilitate meaningful collaborations that bridge exceptional research teams across the globe.
Recently, Daniel Ben- Hur and Edo Kiper from Neta Regev-Rudzky lab at the Weizmann Institute of Science visited the Institut Pasteur in France as part of a joint initiative led by Bina to advance malaria research.

Daniel and Edo met with the Chetan Chitnis group. They had insightful discussions and learned to culture, treat, synchronize and extract merozoites from Plasmodium knowlesi, another malaria-causing parasite. They learned and performed immunofluorescence assays (IFAs) on both Plasmodium parasites and studied the principles for executing thermal shift assays.

During the visit, Daniel and Edo presented their work to Najma Rachidi’s group, igniting engaging conversations about antimicrobial peptides.
Julia Bos and the WIS team also explored shared research interests, paving the way for potential new collaborations.

We’re delighted to share some of the highlights from this visit (curated from many memorable moments!).
