Neuroethology of sexually dimorphic social behavior
The lab focuses on two main themes:
- Elucidating the encoding of sexually dimorphic reproductive behaviors, such as mating, parental care and aggression, by the male and female brain, and their regulation by environmental stimuli.
- Dissecting the mechanisms underlying social behaviors and group organization in neurotypical and autism-related mouse models.
Our animal models: laboratory and wild-caught mice, blind mole rats (BMR, Spalax ehrenbergi).
We combine multidisciplinary techniques, including automated social behavioral phenotyping, transgenic mouse models, viral gene manipulations, neuronal tracing, optogenetics, molecular biology etc.
