Boaz Ninyo-Setter
"You are such a naughty boy!" That's what his mother told him until she made the brave and right decision and sent him to learn to play the trumpet at the age of 12. Since then, playing and listening to music has changed his life.
Today, after a long break from playing, it is a great privilege and pleasure for him to combine his daily life as a computer manager in the Earth Research Department together with playing in the institute's orchestra, in which wonderful people play.
Matthaeus Schwartz-Schilling
Matthaeus got his first trumpet from his grandfather, who had always dreamed of playing himself. Matthaeus then had trumpet lessons from the age of 7 to 16 years. He never played in a band or orchestra. Now, with a gap of nearly 20 years, he has picked up the trumpet again and is playing for the first time in an orchestra. He really enjoys the experience of playing with a large group of people and wishes he would have had that experience earlier.
Matthaeus is a German Post-doc at the Department of Chemical and Biological Physics in synthetic biology. He loves to take biological molecules and build artificial systems with them.
