Bina is a scientific unit at the Weizmann Institute of Science, administered by the Vice President for innovation and Technology Transfer. Bina means “wisdom” in Hebrew and it’s an acronym for “Bridge, Innovate, Nurture and Advance”. Bina identifies early-stage basic research projects with potential practical applications which are likely to produce intellectual property and nurtures and supports these projects.
Bina serves as in-house innovation hub, leveraging the Weizmann Institute’s collective brainpower to synergize ideas and develop new technologies, increasing campus engagement, funding early-stage research projects and creating an innovation ecosystem for faculty members and students alike.
