Microbial Physiology in the Ocean

To understand how our laboratory findings apply to real-world environments, we conduct studies using large publicly available datasets, including metagenomics and metatranscriptomics. When needed, we also complement our studies with actual environmental samples. We analyze these datasets and samples to identify microbial participants, their chemical interactions, and how they influence each other. By studying environmental data and samples, we can assess the relevance of our laboratory findings and identify new research areas. Ultimately, our goal is to understand how microscale processes studied in the lab can have global impacts on biogeochemical cycles.
