And is generally very embarrassing. When a baking competition is announced at the kindergarten, Ephraim's father stays up all night baking the winning cake. As part of the “Poetry of Science” project, a prize is awarded annually to scientists who create and write poetry or prose.  

The competition reflects the affinity between science and the humanities and encourages scientists to engage in artistic creativity. 

An evening of poetry, meeting the award winners and music by Anat Moshkovski. Conducted under the auspices of the Weizmann-Mandel Program.

The new film by cinematographer Wim Wenders ("Paris, Texas", "Wings of Desire" and "Pina") is a smart, beautiful and moving drama that takes the small and simple moments of life and shows them to us at the peak of their beauty. 

The film, which takes place in the spectacular streets and parks of Tokyo, was screened as part of the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Best Actor award and much audience acclaim. 

Hirayama lives a simple life and seems content with it. He works as a cleaner and has a regular, orderly daily routine. He enjoys reading books, photographing trees and listening to music, mainly from the 80s, still on an old tape deck. When his young niece arrives on his doorstep, the routine of his life suddenly changes and a special bond is forged between the two, forcing Hirayama to deal with things he thought he left behind.

The second in a series of performances by quality jazz ensembles at the Sela Bar, with a talented ensemble that combines classical and folk Turkish music with Western music influences.

Ras el Hanout is a stormy and surprising ensemble that combines classical and folk Turkish music and electric instruments, western musicality and pure pleasure, the streets of Istanbul steeped in a groovy Western vibe. Turkish music is already a kind of fusion of elements from all over the Ottoman Empire, the Middle East and the Balkans. The ensemble is further mixed with a fresh and surprising blend of bağlama and clarinet with bass, drums and keyboards, of Turkish melodies and rhythms with jazzy harmonic sensitivity, funk aromas and electrifying electric energy. The members of Ras el Hanout devote heart and soul to playing music that is touching, uncompromising, spectacular and exciting. The ensemble recently performed at the Sufi Festival, Mediterranee Festival, East West House, Tammuz House of Music and more.
