About us

A cell's proteome is much more than the sum of its individual protein components. The proteome is organized into complex networks of interacting proteins (nodes), with interactions encompassing physical binding, enzyme/substrate activities, and myriad activating and inhibitory events. Historically a lab investigating cell death, we have used the programmed cell death network as a classic example of how the proteome can be organized into a complex, dynamic interactome, studying its organization, inter- and intra-connectivity, and how specific protein translation can affect cell fate by determining the specific proteome content in different cellular contexts. Importantly, we have harnessed the principles of PCD network organization that we have dissected for the understanding and treatment of diseases affected by PCD.
