Maria Labendik
Maria began her musical journey in early childhood, studying piano at a music school in Polevskoy, Russia. She has performed in numerous concerts and festivals in Russia and abroad. The performances included solo acts, duets with her brother Mikhail and other ensembles. At 14, her interest in natural sciences led her to attend a boarding school in Yekaterinburg specializing in physics and mathematics. After graduating from the Moscow Institute of Science and Technology, she joined the "Exotic Quantum States" laboratory under the supervision of Moty Heiblum at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Department of Condensed Matter. She earned her Master’s degree from Weizmann and continues her research there as a PhD student. Today, music remains a significant part of her life, complementing her scientific work; she performs with the Weizmann orchestra and in chamber music ensembles.
