Introduction to Lab Automation Course - July 2024

In July 2024, the Introduction to Lab Automation course was successfully offered for the first time at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Taught by Dr. Lior Segev, head of the Lab Automation unit of the Physics Core Facilities, and Dr. Danielle Honigstein from Noam Sobel's Lab, this academic course provided students with valuable hands-on experience and awarded one credit point. Students worked directly with real hardware, including Arduino boards and essential instrumentation tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators. They also gained proficiency in using Git for source control. This course equipped students with practical skills for designing and implementing embedded systems applications, preparing them to automate their experimental setups in their research labs.
